1. In this article, it discusses how Trey McIntyre understands the New Orleans faith and religion. After reading this I understood the first dance piece we watched last Friday better. Using the masks and certain moves they did related to this culture and New Orleans style of music and dance. This article also discusses the Preservation Hall musicians that play the music for the piece "Ma Maison". http://blog.nola.com/chriswaddington/2008/11/the_trey_mcintyre_project_will.html
2. In this YouTube video it mentions "Face of America", it shows pieces from Trey McIntyre's piece "The Sun Road" and clups from the actual park that weren't in his video. This helped me see why the park was choosen as a film spot and helped me understand the Wolf Trap and the project they are trying to complete. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_Tn_ihpILI
3. This article told me why Trey McIntyre choose Glacier National Park for his viedo dance piece. When visiting he said "I got this feeling of vertigo, of being overpowered in this vast expanse," and knew it was a perfect place for the "Face of America" project. The piece is done to discuss enviornmental issues going on in the park (and around the world) and how us as humans can start and stop these issues. When first seeing this viedo on Friday, I didn't get that out of the dance, but after reading this article it makes more sense. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/08/13/AR2009081301063.html
